i adopted a dog!
after checking the local animal shelter and humane society for the last month and a half, i found a pug! he was found in our county about an hour north of where i live. they said this wasn't the first time he's been picked up and that he was picked up with another dog. the other dog was picked up by the owners, but my dog was not. he's very skinny so i don't know if the owners were neglecting him (it sounds like they were) or if he was just loose for a long time. pugs are supposed to be chubby, but he's skinny! i'm going to have to chunk him up a little bit. he's probably two years old or so.
i am getting him on Tuesday if the owners don't pick him up on Monday (which i don't think they will be doing). the animal shelter is going to transport him to our vet sometime on Tuesday to be neutered, and i will be picking him up after i get off work.
i was very excited to get him, and i am even more excited to get him now that i know more of his history. i'm glad i rescued him and will be able to give him a good, loving home, and a friend to play with. :)
